We admit it, we’ve been clicking the refresh button on Ryan Adamspage for what seems like a lifetime. Why you might ask? Well, his new cover album “1989” and accompanying single – the internationally renowned “Bad Blood“- is only one of the most highly anticipated records of the year, and it’s hit the inter-web this very day.

Yup, you heard that right, that’s the same “Bad Blood” originally released by Taylor Swift a matter of months ago, only this time it’s a considerably more mature sound, with the addition of the mandatory Ryan Adams twist.

With regards to the single, it’s a reassembled song from start to finish. From acoustics guitars and layered string sections, to reverb-filled vocals and the mellow piano lines that leads you in a dream-like state through the track; “Bad Blood” is craftsmanship at it’s finest.

Adams’ YouTube channel has been inundated with comments, both good and bad.

Let’s not forget either the multiple songwriters who are owed a massive nod for penning the original track. With the worlds greatest pop hit-maker Max Martin (Pink’s “So What?”, Katy Perry’s “I Kissed A Girl” and Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone” to name but a few of his credits) joining Swift and Shellback behind the wheel, the outcome was never going to be anything but hit material.

What’s funny about the single though, is the way in which Adams fans are declaring the track has “FINALLY become a good song” and that the original single was “mediocre at best.”

We understand  not everyone has an ear for Swift’s hook-filled pop-drenched melodies, but let’s not forget that had Swift not played an integral part in the original process, Ryan wouldn’t have a track to remake at all.

So whether you love her or loathe her, let’s give Swift, Martin, Shellback and Adams a massive hand, and thank them for penning, experimenting, rearranging and rerecording one bloody great song!
