Adam Levine and the guys from Maroon 5 have teamed up with Christina Aguilera to release the song ‘Moves like Jagger’. After Aguilera hurriedly abandoned her most recent album ‘Bionic’ after its flop in the charts I think things are starting to look up for her. Ok so I’m not saying this is going to be an out and out hit, because if I’m honest that’s not realistic, BUT it is definately a step in the right direction for the diva. Let’s be honest with Mr Levine not much can go wrong, but on the serious side, it’s decent pop. The track seems to lack Ms Aguilera’s power ballad voice but features the guys in their droves. Cher Lloyd has followed in their wake by releasing the track ‘Swagger Jagger’. I’m the first to admit I have never been a big Cher Lloyd fan and this single leaves a lot to be desired. I can imagine it being a hit amongst her loyal hoards of tween ‘im gangsta’ fans but doesn’t really do it for me. The entire track just sounds a ‘pop turned gangsta’ attempt at the mainstream and I find it a little scratchy and irritating.
