Abbe May does not do anything by halves nor does she ever take the easy road. She is not afraid to be mean, she is not afraid to be ugly, and she is never even remotely scared to haunt anyone who comes her way. You will not catch her singing about love in a sweet, unicorny almost nauseating kind of way in order to sell extra copies. She will, however, feed you with a vicious slice of doom pop and you will, oh yes you will, remember her name.
 
This human tornado of sounds is filled with electronic mixed with goth mixed with industrial vibes. The hurricane herself comes from a small coastal town in the South West of the Western side of Kangaroo Land known as Australia. Oh, you don’t know the name of the town? That’s ok. Nobody does… Abbe has nothing to do with her country girl roots though. In fact, she is exactly the opposite of what anyone born and raised under the same circumstances would grow up to be. She is unique, she is cool, she is weird, she is real…
Big studios, blinged up entourage, fancy photo shoots and hip producers aren’t her thing. Instead she records her songs in a small (read: very small but cosy) studio by the Indian Ocean with her best friend and producer, Sam Ford. Prior to the forthcoming album, “Kiss My Apocalypse”, she released an LP “Design Desire” in 2011 which was awarded top five Best Australian albums of 2012 by the Australian Music Prize. The media have called her many names, but “brave”, “awesome”, “ballsy” and “cool” seem to always be present wherever Abbe is mentioned.
After “Design Desire”, Abbe May travelled around the world and upon returning to her sleepy little death toll town, she took a sharp new turn away from her heavy guitar riffage and into the hook laden world of weirdo pop where she is the psycho queen.
The long awaited and much anticipated first single called “T.R.O.U.B.L.E” is a result of a non-stop experimental recording for a year with just a mellotron and a drum machine. Its B-side called “Karmageddon” has already become a cult hit across Australia with a video simply oozing and spilling attitude.
