If you’re hunting for carefree, bouncing indie-pop that would feel right at home in 500 Days Of Summer or Nick And Nora’s Infinite Playlist, then Boston-based  Air Traffic Controller are the band for you.

Comprised of vocalists Dave Munro and Casey Sullivan, the band’s latest track “The House” is taken off their brand-spanking new album Black Box (US release 11 March, UK release TBC – we’ll keep you updated). An eclectic combination of mellow 90s guitar riffs given a quirky up-to-date twist with the help of brilliantly layered vocals, the single effortlessly combines flecks of CHVRCHES with the indie vibes of Pulp and a smattering of Death Cab For Cutie. In basic terms, it’s the lead single off the Juno II soundtrack that never was.

The rest of the album is equal parts fascinating and brilliant (tracks like “Creature Of The Night” contain chants and merriness a plenty, emitting glimpses of early Green Day combined with the acoustic mellowness of A Rocket To The Moon / The Hush Sound). If we had to sum this bands sound up in a nutshell, it would pretty much be as though someone bottled juvenile exuberance, loved-up bliss and the essence of summer into homemade jam jars, all whilst selling them alongside mix-tape cassettes.

It’s utterly blissful, so much so that you better check out the single “My House” above or below (see, we spoil you lot rotten).
