Targeting our headphones with precision engineered funk-infused pop, The Modern Strangers’ latest cut “Red Strip Lights” is here to divide and conquer.

The opening track on the band’s recently completed debut European tour, the band have unleashed this latest sonic creation on their own terms, courtesy of their label Hoolay RecordsIt’s an infectious offering to say the least, blending pumping basslines and building choruses that are worth their weight in gold.

Harp back to the glory days of summer and you might remember the band’s debut EP Meltdown Mechanics – an offering sizzling with energy and up-tempo frivolity. This latest cut follows in its distinctive footsteps, melding fierce riffs with exuberant melodies you can’t help but fall a little bit in love with.

Red Strip Lights is actually a very young song,” note the band of the single. “We wrote it at the end of summer after a long stretch of festivals. I guess you can hear that in the song. We wanted to make a tune that sat in-between ‘Coco Hello’ and ‘Margarita’ but gave a little something more. It’s about a troubled soul who you’d find out and about trying to find a club that’s still open.”
