ANIMAL COLLECTIVE ARE RELEASING A NEW ALBUM! Sorry – give me a second to regain my composure.
The psychedelic music-makers have just dropped the news that their forthcoming album, Painting With, is set to be released on 19th February. This musical revelation comes just days after the band decided to stream the entire album on loop for passengers at Baltimore Airport – lucky buggers.
Host and comedian Matt Baetz – band member Avey Tare‘s cousin – dropped the above image on his Instagram site with the caption “@aveytare_voiceofthefly is it just me or did I hear the NEW animal collective record at, of all places, @bwi airport ??? Hehehe @anmlcollective #bathroomacousticsrock“
Who even needs the excuse of a holiday to visit the airport nowadays, eh?
Recorded at EastWest studios in Los Angeles earlier this year, Panda Bear, Geologist, Colin Stetson and John Cale all got in on the act by joining Tare in the studio. “FloriDada” is set to be the first single off the forthcoming album.
