Working with the likes of James Bay, Ed Sheeran and Bastille, the hype surrounding song-writing and producing duo Iron Lines is growing by the day.

Having listened to their debut single, “Voices”, One Stop Record Shop can indeed confirm that this pair DO live up to expectations – yup, you can breathe a sigh of relief! With big things on the horizon, we thought it time to delve into the world of Iron Lines and discover what really makes them tick. We sat down and questioned the duo to find out more…

  • So you’ve worked with some pretty impressive names; Bastille, James Bay, Ed Sheeran- do you think (if at all) those experiences shaped the way your music sounds?

Umm, most definitely. These guys have definitely influenced the lyric process of making the music we make.

  • What made you both decide to join together and create the project that is Iron Lines?

Absolute fate! And that’s a fact. All from one hand shake and a coffee. The rest is in the music.

  • Your new single Voices, which is great by the way, is very lyrically interesting- could you tell us about the inspirations behind it?

Thanks! We want the listener to be able to relate to our stories. Voices was inspired by a personal friend who is heavily engulfed by addiction, who has now developed psychosis causing a paralyzed mind. It’s very sad! Especially when you know someone with an extremely beautiful heart who once was the opposite.

  • What do you want people to take from your music?

What ever they feel. This is not a mission to be the next top selling band of all time. This is a journey that we are enjoying, by owning our own studio and producing everything ourselves with literally all our own efforts. We just want people to be able to relate to what our hearts and souls are saying.

  • What can we expect next from Iron Lines?

We are working on the video to follow Voices at present. With shows pending in London. Also currently in the studio writing continuously.

  • To help our readers discover some great new music, what’re three songs on your playlist that you love right now?

Rag n bone man – “Human”

LP – “Muddy Waters”

X Ambassadors – “Unsteady”
