Corey Crumpacker – more than just another artist with a ridiculously alliterative/overly-complicated/oddly spelled name (CHVRCHES and Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, we’re staring right at you).
As vocal introductions go, we weren’t entirely convinced by this pop offering, however, the instrumentals are where this track affirms its intent. Merging flecks of Mumford & Sons with the pacing urgency of Ryan Tedder and the One Republic boys, the chorus is where “What Of Me” really comes to life. Focusing in on the ever-expanding soundtrack market (a song that would nestle comfortably alongside any mainstream film or television drama),”What Of Me” surges determinedly towards a pop fruition.
Check the single out below and discover an alternative gem in the form of Crumpacker’s “Mighty Horn” (make of that title what you will – or maybe we’ve just got issues. Yup, I think it’s the latter).
