A name that’s sure to ring bells among music fans worldwide, Canadian rockers Marianas Trench have returned with their latest musical offering “Astoria“.
A video that pays homage to the cult classic that is The Goonies, the band’s storming new offering was shot in Astoria, Oregon, taking in various locations that feature heavily in the original film.
And the sound? Well, the track features soaring harmonies and tinkering, piano-led interludes, invoking bold, synth heavy arrangements that have a somewhat obscure but nonetheless pleasant hints of Queen.
Having risen to fame in the late naughties with a string of chart topping singles (remember 2011’s “Fallout” anyone?!) it’s great to see this band roaring through our speakers once again.
