If you hadn’t figured as much, Gallo is back with fresh cut “Truth or Dare” – a delicious dose of faded glamour.
Serving up quintessential indie tinged pop like it’s going out of fashion, the latest track blends dark, teasing calls of “Wanna play a little truth or dare?” with infectious choruses and unrelenting rhythm.
Like so many of the creative offerings servred up by Gallo, the accompanying video is a retro offering of the finest order. Dark glamour, smudged lipstick and fishnets en mass, the overall aesthetic is reminiscent of stylised bigwigs like Gaga.
“We planned on reserving this motel room for some scenes in an extremely seedy part of downtown LA,” recounts Gallo of the ordeal that was shooting the video for “Truth or Dare”. “They wouldn’t let us rent the room because we were women! After 2 hours of blowing us off we sent the only guy in our crew in to the front desk and they ended up letting us rent it. But now the issue was how do we get in the room and pass that front desk?! Another amazing girl on the crew and I hid behind some cars a block away. Then when we finally got in the room we had to be sure to keep the curtains closed, the door locked, and didn’t let anyone go in or out. We stayed in that small smokey motel room with 7 crew members filming for a good 8 hours! Felt like we were in a time warp when we stepped out but it was beyond worth it!”
