It’s been a whirlwind year for Scandi export Mavrick. Having parted ways with Universal Music following the release of acclaimed album, Atlantis, the Swedish talent set about doing things his way.

Needless to say, we’re pretty excited to premiere the fresh video for “Kids“, the first post-major label release from the Swede. Claiming back creative control, Mavrick (AKA Marcus Sennewald) has not only crafted a track that moves beyond the pop tendencies of his previous releases, but is accompanied by slick visuals to boot.

“I reached a point where I had completely lost myself both as an artist and as a person in the whole major label structure…” notes Marcus. “They don’t care about you as a person and they don’t care about your music! Not as long as you don’t provide a profit to the company, it’s that simple.”

Mavrick Kids

Accompanied by a retro infused arcade game depicting Marcus’s escape from his major label deal in the corporate musical jungle, 2018 is a brand new era for Mavrick.

“Kids” is a raw track that serves as a musical middle finger to the corporations and the elite 1%. Shunning existing pop parameters, this fresh visual splices raw home video-esque footage with bleak, industrial scenes.
