It’s time to ease ourselves into the week courtesy of the dulcet soul-pop sounds of Nashville’s Bien.

Blistering guitar lines and slick grooves combine to create “Electric Dream“, the title track taken from the trio’s fresh new EP. Swirling funk undertones and lo-fi flecks form the basis of the track, a sound that’s simple yet brilliantly infectious.

Consisting of songwriters Jessie Early and Angela & Tim Lauer, Bien blends synthetic and organic sounds into a melodic swirl of keyboards, strings, electronic percussion and indie-pop vocals. Add a helping of magical production courtesy of Tim Lauer (Taylor Swift, The Civil Wars, Foy Vance, and Mikky Ekko), and together the three began creating the type of music they’d been longing to hear.

Inspired by Prince’s music, a sound the group returned to following his death, “we wanted to write about those brief dreamlike magical moments in a relationship when everything seems perfect.” notes Bien. “The production goal was make make it feel as funky as possible with as few elements as possible.”
