So you know that whole sexy dual-language thing that Christine And The Queens does oh-so brilliantly? Well, I think One Stop Record Shop has just hit upon a competitor.

Hailing from Quebec, Canada, Final State are a group bridging the language barrier with a storming blend of indie-pop with a delightful dash of R’n’B. Their latest single, “WAYN? (Where Are You Now?)”, talks of a conflictual relationship with someone that let us down and the questioning that arises once confronted with it. Blending slick guitar hooks with verses that seamlessly transition from French to English – and then back again, Final State offer up something a little different in an over-saturated squeaky clean pop market.

Fret not if you’re living up to the lazy British cliché and can’t be bothered translating, for Final State are set to release an English copy in the coming weeks and their eponymous debut sometime this year. Keep your ears to the ground people.
