Imagine Lana Del Ray and Florence & The Machine found themselves crossed with Marina & The Diamonds – that’s the sort of musical territory you’ll find yourself in with today’s Track Of The Day from Julia Clara.
She may lack the power of the aforementioned big hitters, but she’s an artist that’s managed to nail the ethereal haze that the likes of Lana have become famous for. “Still Dancing” is a fine example of mellow pop that goes the distance. In fact, the chorus is eerily reminiscent of the catchy hooks seen in tracks like Ella Henderson’s hit single “Ghost“. It’s safe to say that given time and a bit of nurturing, Julia Clara has marked pop potential.
