Infiltrating our speakers with his soaring, pop doused melodies, newcomer Kaptan is commanding our attention for all the right reasons.
As tracks go, fresh cut “Hardest Part” is a stark juxtaposition. Surging forth with the aid of dancing guitars and uplifting pop riffs, the track’s lyrics bring a darker, emotional twist to proceedings.
“This particular song is much different than anything I’ve done for this project,” Kaptan remarks. “I lost my mother a few years ago and wrote this song about that. It’s definitely a little darker, sadder, but it’s probably one of my favorite songs that I’ve ever written.”
Kaptan’s latest offering evokes a sound reminiscent of a 90s cult classic, twisting dream like, euphoric instrumentals with soaring, unadulterated synths. Darker calls of “The Hardest Part Is Missing You” lie scattered amongst synth laden verses, creating a bittersweet track worthy of a listen… or five.
