By our own admittance, we sometimes like to dabble in a little bit of folk.
We’re not talking grab-your-tie-dye-clothes-a-guitar-and-settle-in-a-forest sort of folk, no, we’re talking about the pop and rock variety; a smooth blend that still manages to retain a good old hook–or three.
Katie Ferrara is an artist that falls into that exact category, combining chugging guitar lines with her beautifully husky tone. Taken from her 6-track EP Dream Catcher, “Jackets” is a slowly building track, dipping its toe into the catchiest of waters whilst showcasing her promising songwriting abilities. It’s fair to say there’s still a long way to go for this relative newcomer, however, with her smooth vocals and hooks galore, Katie Ferrara provides a thoroughly satisfying dose of folk-pop.
