Making an appearance in our feisty March Playlist, up-and-comer Lauran Hibberd has returned with a deliciously rough new sound (we can’t get enough of it).
Fresh release “Fun Like This” showcases an altogether grittier edge, with punk-infused production that falls just the right side of raw. The track sees Hibberd’s quaint, characterful vocals soar, courtesy of an emphatic chorus that’ll have you hooked quicker than you can say ‘Voila!’.
The track hinges on the concept of rebellion and those who don’t conform to the things expected of young twenty-somethings.
“I feel like there is something really raw about it – particularly production wise,” Hibberd explains. “I feel like there’s a newfound drive and confidence in it. The song for me definitely reflects on being a bit of an outsider, and traditionally not enjoying the other things twenty-year-olds do (whatever that may be).”
