Sketchy indie. It’s a new genre I’ve decided to invent. Y’know, because it’s not like there’s already an abundance of absurd genre labels floating around the internet.
Today’s Track Of The Day falls straight into this new, niftily designed category. US artist M.A.G.S., AKA Elliott Douglas, has unleashed “Demon” into the world – and boy is it criminal.
Hailing from Buffalo, this multi-instrumentalist is fast catching the ears of the wider world. Shot, edited, and directed by Bobby Burns, the accompanying video for “Demon” is a pastel charade. Centered around the concept of facing your fears but not necessarily conquering them, the track focusses on deeply-rooted anxieties and the way we, as humans, learn to to cope.
Plenty of haze. Spoonfuls of grit. The track is downright infectious. What more could you ask for?
