Infiltrating our eardrums with a highly infectious strain of the ‘Indie Pops’, Magnus Bechmann sure knows how to make an entrance.

Fresh cut “Bruises” certainly leaves its mark. Blending gripping choruses with wave after wave of finely crafted hooks, the 21-year-old’s latest release leaves you wanting more. Plucky electronic elements intertwine with relentless basslines that command your attention. Also, is it us or is their a strange, underlying sound that reminds us of “Escape” (AKA the Pina Colada song)?!

“It is a track about decisions, and the point where you have to decide to go ‘all in’ or ‘slow down and think about it’,” Bechmann remarks. “Kinda like the yellow light in a traffic light: either you pedal to the metal, or slow down and wait for the next green. In my case, I thought it was best to speed up, and hope that the speeding ticket won’t be too big”.

The newcomer’s 2017 debut-EP, Loners Get Lonely Too, set the bar high for this Norwegian export, bringing forth a surging energy that is guaranteed to grab your attention. Having already worked with Erlend Mokkelbost (Montée, JR Ewing) and Benjamin Giørtz (Kid Astray), Magnus Bechmann is rising fast.
