Mikey Shy Bitter Me

London legend Mikey Shy, has released a trophy debut single in the form of “Bitter Me“. Taken from his Mental ♯IMFINE EP, the track hits home as he courageously channels his inner battle with depression into his musical offerings.

Shy channels a fastidious indie pop sound, conjuring hooks reminiscent of pop titans like Gotye and Bastille. Featuring a pounding rhythm akin to a triumphant war march, “Bitter Me” merges the notion of survival with the struggle that moulds his distinctive sound. With a vocal husk like chocolate, alongside vibrant guitar riffs, Shy will have you melting faster than your summer gelato.

As a growing public concern that doesn’t get the press coverage it rightfully deserves, Shy’s stance on mental health is bold and encouraging one. Tuning to current generational skirmishes not only makes his work honorable and refreshing, but also points to a promising career ahead.

It’s well worth checking out the song’s hysterical music video where Shy brilliantly makes light out of dark. Playing the painful position of ‘the third wheel’, the man’s a genius! I hope he doesn’t ‘Shy’ away from music any time soon!
