A group that first caught our eye last year with their storming cover of Ellie Goulding’s “On My Mind”, this original cut is set to set your speakers ablaze. Connoisseurs of ultimate summer anthems, Ripe have returned, unveiling the infectious “Little Lighter” upon our unsuspecting ears.
“‘Little Lighter’ to me means a combination of three things,” notes Ripe frontman Robbie. “The first is that moment of human interaction where you are one baby step outside your comfort zone and so interacting with everything around you in a way that feels new and exciting. It is also that turning point in your day when the weight of the previous hours fall away… Lastly it is the instant where you outdo yourself, where you reach as far as you think it’s possible for yourself to reach, and then suddenly noticed that when you weren’t looking your reach got better.”
Complete with bubbling brass sections, bouncing rhythm and infectious guitar lines, this is a playlist worth addition if ever we heard it. Having just announced a 34 date North American tour, we think it’s about time they trod the boards over here in the UK.
