Following a time in hibernation, LA’s Smallpools have unleashed their latest single “Run With The Bulls” – and boy has the wait been worth it.
Packed with pacing, Two Door Cinema Club-esque guitar lines, the track’s name says it all. Opening cries of “Waves of people behind me//Are they following me?” ease you into a world of paranoia – a theme that’s evident throughout. A shining example of indie-pop at its best, the track merges high octane guitar lines with a bouncing energy that carries you through the psychosis.
“Run With The Bulls” marks a turning point in the band’s career, moving from soft, teen-rock, to an altogether more mature and indie-infused sound. We reckon this song is the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the band.
