Blending undeniable flecks of 80s disco synthpop with an indie undercurrent, “Wide Awake” exudes a sound reminiscent of relentless tune makers like Friendly Fires. It’s something that makes that much more sense when you learn “Wide Awake” was written during a two week session in Brixton with Passion Pit/St. Lucia producer Chris Zane.
