DJ Earworm United State Of Pop 2015, New Music, Pop music

It all began with a mashup entitled, “United State Of Pop 2009“. Soon after, the track was certified an internet smash, and DJ Earworm became the latest mastermind to usurp the remix throne.

Fast-forward to 2015, and (despite a few mandatory dips in the musical road) DJ Earworm is still going strong, producing frustratingly catchy annual round-ups that illustrate the landscape of today’s mainstream pop charts. This years offering may lack the punch of 2009’s top-notch creation, but DJ Earworm has the uncanny ability to create mashups slicker than Joey Essex’s hair.

This year’s pop offering builds upon the success of The Weekend‘s international mega-hit “I Can’t Feel My Face“, layering on dollops of Jason Derulo‘s “Want You To Want Me” like it’s going out of fashion. There are also notable appearances from the likes of Adam Levine and those Maroon 5 boys, Fall Out Boy, the Beibz, Selena Gomez, and not forgetting the undisputed Queen of squad goals, Taylor Swift.

One particular mention goes out to Earworm and his ability to slide Adele‘s “Hello” right on in there. Considering it was released less than a couple of weeks before the launch of this baby, he’s done a darn good job of giving it a prime spot in amongst 2015’s musical greats.
