Twin Wild "My Hear" single release 2016

Fret not loyal One Stop Record Shop readers! We’ve heard you clicking the refresh button since the early hours of Monday morning and rest assured, we’ve heeded your desperate calls for new music and pulled out a corker of a track for your listening pleasure.

Combining bold bass lines with a healthy dose of distortion, Twin Wild are a band delivering rock satisfaction a-plenty. Their latest single “My Heart” (released July 29th) is a genuine gem for the eardrums, and precisely the reason we’ve made it our Track Of The Week.

Opening with the falsetto of frontman Richard Hutchison, “My Heart” marches forth with a driving beat that acts as a true declaration of intent. Don’t be perturbed by the lengthy introduction (if we had criticism, this is surely the track’s weak spot), there’s soon a change in the waters. Producing a sonic mix that can only be described as the blending of Royal Blood, Nothing But Thieves and Band Of Skulls, these boys are being rallied by some big names.

Uptempo instrumentals are paired with witty calls of “I could have been a fighter pilot / I could have got high / I could have been a lawyer baby / justice on my mind”, something that – alongside a healthy amount of hooks – ensures the repeat button is well and truly sent into meltdown.

Twin Wild are onto something great – a must listen if we do say so ourselves (which we do).

Fancy catching the boys live? Check them out at London’s Boston Music Room on September 14th.
