The band in happier days…

In recent hours, former Blink-182 bassist Tom DeLonge has released a statement that fundamentally denies every claim made by band-mates Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus. In his latest statement – the first message not delivered through his management for quite some time according to Barker and Hoppus – DeLonge says that although the band had an “unconventional” relationship, the announcement of his departure came as a total shock and that it has subsequently “poisoned” relations between them. DeLonge goes on to say;

“Are they at fault? Am I? Of course. I’m nuts… But there’s three of us – we’re all accountable. At the end of the day, we’ve always been dysfunctional, which is why we haven’t talked in months. But we never did. In the 8 years we have been together it has always been that way.”

In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Barker took the profound step of noting saying, “Why Blink even got back together in the first place is questionable”. This bitter feud doesn’t appear to be ending anytime soon and despite DeLonge’s departure, Blink will continue with their pre-scheduled commitments – including the Musink Festival – as planned with the help of the Alkaline Trio bassist.
