As anyone aware of FKA Twigs and her work knows, she loves the unconventional. With recent videos that include her being suspended from a harness of her own hair, through to her eye popping visuals in her “Water Me” video, we couldn’t help but let our minds wander back to her BBC performance back in September. The Radio 1 Live Lounge performance went down a storm and Twigs – aka Tahliah Debrett Barnett – surprised everyone (quite literally) with some rather… obscure face artwork. Featuring a somewhat distracting pair of eyebrows, Twigs’ performance was memorable for more than one reason. Covering Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me” – a track which has harbored an awful lot of press attention in recent days as a result of Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne being added to the writing credits – Twigs added her signature mellow edge to the track and totally making it her own. We love this track and think she deserves a pat on the back… and a trip to boots to buy some tweezers.
