Our video of the week comes to you direct from the band that brought you the nostalgia infused track ‘Buddy Holly’. Yes it’s Weezer, and we’re pretty sure there’s no sign of Rivers Cuomo and the guys growing up anytime soon.
Directed by Brendan Walter and Greg Yagolnitzer, it’s a video that packs a comedy punch, something we’ve grown to expect from the American rockers that delivered a playboy filled ‘Beverly Hills’. The videos premise? Everyone needs a good Tinder photo.
The band can be seen trying to nail the perfect dating app photo for their Tinder profiles – or ‘Winder’ as it’s known in the video. We see the guys attempting to imitate every stereotype in order to get the girl; from alternative hipsters in a record store to drunken alcoholics and even two day old burrito eating dumpster fiends – they’ve got it covered.
The guitar heavy track is taken off the bands 2014 LP Everything Will Be Alright, and it’s a track that sends you straight back to a time when denim was cool and alternative was the way forward. It’s surfy, it’s mellow, it’s Weezer just the way we like it.
