Slow Burn by Andrew Grant

Slow Burn by Andrew Grant

Tracks capable of unleashing enough ferocity to provoke a skin tingling reaction are few and far between these days.

Sure, Adele’s “Hello” was moving in its own Lionel Ritchie-esque right, but what I’m on about are the creative rarities, the chillingly eerie vocals, the eccentric flare. It’s a sad thing, but if ever there were an upside, it would be our ever increasing appreciation for the good stuff.

“Slow Burn” is a track teetering on the very edge of that category. As debuts go, Andrew Grant has skillfully created a hauntingly electric affair, blending subtle basslines and gravelly vocals in a seemingly effortless musical charade.

The track’s brilliance comes from its steadily building bridges that unleash you headfirst into explosively choruses full of exuberance. Plucky guitars are the icing on the cake for this track, simultaneously blending the somber delights of The XX, hook filled One Republic melodies and a powerful streak reminiscent of Alex Care’s “Too Close”, into one diverse creation.

Keep your eyes peeled, Andrew Green is an artist to get excited about.
