The Happy Hippo Family – a band with a name more likely to conjure images of a u-rated, ball-munching board game or a new range of kinder chocolates.

But don’t let the name throw you, this Scandi bunch are creating lighthearted, feel good indie-pop for the masses. Lyrically, their latest single “Two Blocks Down” may lack a certain level of depth and maturity – something that’s sure to come with time – but the combination of bouncing choruses and Iglu & Hartley-esque hooks makes this track a memorable one.

Smothered in synths and panging guitar segments, it won’t be long before you find yourself overcome with an uncontrollable foot tapping urge. This track is perfect ‘two fingers to the weekend’ material.
