Mo Safen "Bagels & Coffee"

If there’s something we love more than good food and great music, it’s great music named after good food.

Introducing Mo Safren and his new single “Bagels & Coffee”, a catchy as hell pop track with a kick – so to speak. Hailing from Culpeper, Virginia, Safren’s R’n’B infused hooks are tied together by a silky smooth piano line that draws you yet further into the track. It’s a single with a distinctly smokey edge; elements of both jazz and skiffle can be heard seeping through the speakers, combining with the mainstream pop hooks that will propel this track far.

That’s not to say it’s all sunshine and rainbows. Admittedly, at times the track borders on the cliché – bar the pretty spectacular sunrise, the video doesn’t exactly do it any favours – but don’t let that put you off. The slowly building bridge contains a little bit of magic thanks to the ivories and Safen’s gravelly undertones. A solid pop track with hints of soul make it stand out from the crowd, Mo Safren certainly looks to be onto a good thing.

The single “Bagels & Coffee” will be released on 18th March. Check out the video below or click here to hear more:
