AVANTIST The Mars Volta

What happens when two fierce musical entities join forces to form a rock heavy brotherhood? Well, chances are the product will sound something a little like “Red Bible”.

A track that sees Avantist join forces with The Mars Volta‘s Adrián Terrazas-Gonzáles (on sax), “Red Bible” features double the post-rock ferocity with none of the extra calories. Blending vibrantly building instrumentals with a delightfully rough, riff laden edge, this percussion-heavy rollercoaster is well worth the ride.

Comprised of four Hispanic brothers from the South side of Chicago, Aventist have unleashed a storming avant-garde show of force with an added (deliciously unexpected) twist.  Taken from the band’s self titled album, the record – which started life in 2014 – saw the band work tirelessly for two years in Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio Studios (and several others) before perfect the cut that sits before us today.

Paired with a video that depicts the aftermath of pre-schoolers running riot with highlighters (a perfectly plausible lie), be sure to check out the video below.
