TRACKS OF THE WEEK casette

Introducing the crème de la crème of this week’s music submissions. From pop to rock to all things indie, it’s time to check out a host of great new music!

Deep.Sleep | 1994

If raw guitars laden with plenty of reverb are your freshly brewed cuppa, it’s time you checked out Newcastle upon Tyne foursome, Deep.Sleep.

Described by many as “The 1975 meets New Order”, their sound blends chipper melodies with surging riffs. Stepping up from the local circuit, Deep.Sleep have hopes of taking on the nation with their latest track, “1994“.

Despite being a band still in their infancy, there’s a a charming and unrefined edge to their sound. Admittedly, there’s a fair way to go in terms of production, but these cheeky chaps have chorus lines and plucky instrumentals required to entertain.

The Pale White | Turn It Around

The follow up to The Pale White’s storming debut single “Reaction“, “Turn It Around” blends the band’s signature grit and infectious guitar hooks.

Speaking of the track, the band explain,“The song is about the twists and turns in a disastrous relationship that was always destined for a bitter end.”

It may lack the punch of their debut offering, but these relative newcomers have a bright future ahead of them.

Simen Mitlid | Competition

Taken from Simen Mitlid‘s forthcoming album Everything is the Same, “Competition” blends stripped back guitars, dreamy vocal lines and carefree melodies. Check out his latest offering below:

Jelly Ellington | Sunset

Direct from Austin, Texas, Jelly Ellington brings a nostalgic dose of laidback listening with new track “Sunset”. With his upcoming debut album All In set for release May 19th, his sound is well worth a few moments of your time.
