OSRS MARCH Playlist

We’re back with a fresh dose of new music to warm you in the midst of March. Delving into the depths of the internet, rifling through online releases and spying on your listening habits with MI5 calibre recording devices (OK, so that last one’s a lie, that’s just Facebook), we have our finger on the pulse where emerging indie, pop and rock tracks are concerned. Crack out the mittens and untangle your headphones; these are the artists you need on your radar this month.

One Stop favourites Arms Akimbo have returned (insert cheers here) with the hook heavy anthem “None Of My Business“. This chirpy, riff heavy offering is pretty much the perfect track to thaw you ahead of summer. Soccer Mommy makes a break for it with fresh cut “Last Girl“, blending raw production with floating vocals that will have you daydreaming for days. Accompanied by indie funk rockers The Neighbourhood and neon pop rebel ALMA (and partner in crime Tove Styrke) this playlist is already shaping up to be a winner.

Joseph J. Jones makes a fierce return with his gravel smothered vocals on fresh release, “Speaking In Tongues“. Featuring pop hooks and soaring choruses, it’s practically a religious experience. Fresh faced Esther Vallee also makes an appearance, injecting some Scandi charm courtesy of the infectious “Hardcore” – a track that will have you humming along in about three seconds flat. Accompanied by the slick sepia-tinged pop hooks of US quartet The Aces and the synth-heavy euphoria of Fickle Friends, the pop credentials of this month’s playlist are mounting up.

Milwaukee’s Vinyl Theatre welcome in a surging wave of reverberating pop-rock courtesy of  “Feel It All“. We’ve added in a pinch of rock ‘n’ roll courtesy of northern powerhouse The Pale White (latest cut “Loveless” is on the money), followed closely behind by blistering fan favourites Everything Everything.

The King’s Parade make an empowered statement with latest cut “Woman” (the rather compelling animated vid can be found here), while Ruby Beach take things up a notch with the blistering “Shoulders“. Oh, and did we mention Lauran Hibberd adding a helping of raw pop to the mix?

Hinds, as always, make a blistering impression, followed closely behind by Leeds trio Silver Wilson (be sure to catch our intro interrogation here). And let’s not forget the storming sound of The Prussians (no need to expel them back to Eastern Europe, there’s a ‘p’ involved), with “Soul”, a track designed to promote foot tapping in its purest form. Topped off with a slick helping of Banfi and Water District and we’re pretty much there!

Needless to say, check out our playlist below and give it a cheeky follow for a regular dose of fresh new music.
