The Farewell Broatcast EP

Imagine someone cross-bred the angsty vocals of Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus with the mellow acoustic vibes of a Rocket To The Moon / The Summer Set. OK, now take the result and regress it back a few years to a time before the aforementioned became accomplished stadium performers and the result is likely to sound… well, a little like this.

The Farewell Broadcast is a solo project from Seattle’s STRNGRTHNGS guitarist Logan Johnson and in basic terms, it’s a bloody great dose of nostalgia. Compiling acoustic riffs with beachy summer punk-pop vibes, ‘“I love you.” “I know”‘ is the 5th track of his debut The Farewell Broadcast EP. It’s a throwback to naughties acoustic-emo and comes at us like a self-indulgent punch in the face.

If we’re honest, it’s an EP that doesn’t set itself apart from countless others of the same genre and it’s more than likely never going to set the charts alight, but what ‘”I love you.” “I know” does is prove that there’s always a place in our hearts for a post-naughties emotional outcry.
