It’s time once again for a Scandinavian takeover courtesy of Swedish indie quartet Basement Bout.
Fresh cut “Played” is crammed full of jangling guitars, driving melodies and just enough grit to nestle itself amongst some of the UK’s top homegrown indie acts. Speckled with attitude, the cut is reminiscent of The Enemy meets The Sherlocks with glorious hints of raw 90s garage rock thrown in for good measure.
It’s a sound you’d expect to hail from the north (of the UK) not the south (of Sweden) – a town called Växjö to be precise. A fresh sound with a nostalgic edge, these guys are ones to keep an eye on.
