LPX‘s brand new video for “Tightrope” is here and it’s just as mesmerising as we’d hoped.

Coming at you like an unrestrained ball of energy (or your best mate after a few shots of patrón), the track blends glitchy guitar lines with edgy pop vocals. LPX, AKA Lizzy Plapinger, has fundamentally crafted a pop banger with the addition of some punchy punk attitude to boot.

“This song is about wrestling with the dizzying highs and lows of throwing oneself wholly with heart, body and mind, towards a risk.” recounts Lizzy. “For the video I wanted to explore translating that internal battle into a physical one while highlighting the intensity and frenetic energy of the song. The video draws inspiration from artists Hito Steyerl and Norman McLaren as well as the 1948 film The Red Shoes and the ‘Imagination’ routine in Flashdance.”

Shot in New York, the track’s video was directed by longtime collaborator Mafalda Millies, featuring performance-driven imagery that can only be expressed as the forgotten love child of Under the Skin and Kenneth Anger’s Inauguration of the Pleasure Dome.
