The term ‘DIY music’ has countless connotations. From bands locked away in their garden shed, to Yoko Ono wannabes creating album artwork using paint and expressive dance, the possibilities are endless.
So when we hear of an artist like Jess Morgan who reportedly takes the concept of DIY to the next level, we’re intrigued to hear all about it.
Hailing from Norwich, Morgan uses resin and a variety of dyes and moulds to create these truly one-of-a-kind 7″ vinyls. It took years to hone the art, between recording and touring, but it’s safe to say the final product is worth the work.
Who’d have thought it, it’s actually possible to craft your own vinyl, eh? With her new album, Edison Gloriette, set for physical release on April 22nd to coincide with Record Store Day (alongside the limited edition vinyl), we’re intrigued to see what other talents this artist-come-musician has up her sleeve.
