A band intertwining soulful melodies and the husky tones of a chainsmoker with a 40-a-day habit, UK lads Up Down Go Machine are ones to keep an eye on.

Latest track “Gambler” really isn’t much of a risk at all, with gritty touches of Americana that are set to enchant. Their guitar driven sound combines punchy yet delicate folk-driven melodies, poised for action and set to intrigue. Crafting a sound that’s reminiscent of hard hitters like Ben Howard, Tom Grennan and Samuel Jack, the dark undercurrent is clear to hear.

“Gambler” was written and recorded with producer Owain Jenkins at studio Owz, where the band set out to explore their acoustic limits. Inspired by the epic gangster movies of the 80s and 90s, the track is a snarling monster, penned about a man whose addiction has taken him to the dark side.
