Victors release Traffic

There’s no denying it, one glance at the UK Top 40 or the US Hot 100 chart and it’s clear to see that guitar led pop-rock is, in the words of Rita Ora, “So hot right now”.

With The 1975 riding high at number one on both sides of the Atlantic, there’s a clear demand for reverb laden, hook filled pop-rock sensations. And it’s at this point I’d like to get rid of the whopping great elephant in the room – yes, Victors latest track “Tonight” does sound one hell of a lot like an offering from those precise chaps.

But far from just another indie-pop act chasing the coattails of a phenomenon, Victors offer altogether cleaner vocal lines, interjected with bouncing, euphoric choruses. Produced by Andy Hawkin (Kaiser Chiefs / Maximo Park), the band’s debut offering is a strong show of force. Crafting intricate hooks that raise an eyebrow in the greatest way possible, these boys have chanced upon a formidable formula.
