Rusty Shackle When The Morning Comes

Rusty Shackle When The Morning Comes

It’s Thursday, which can only mean one thing – and no, it doesn’t involve inundating you with amusing Drake memes.

Allow me to instead introduce Rusty Shackle, a band Welsher than Tom Jones singing “Oh Delilah” whilst picking daffodils in the valleys.

Sure they’ve got a name that sounds more like a torture device than a top notch musical machine, but don’t let that fool you. This six-piece have a habit of producing a gratifying hybrid know as indie folk-rock – a high-octane sound reminiscent of Kasabian, sprinkled with a wee bit of Celtic charm. Their latest single “When The Morning Comes” stands testament to this, with a slick accompanying video that in many ways manages to outshine the track itself (in our humble opinion).

Consisting of Liam Collins (vocals, guitars), Scott McKeon (fiddle, banjo and vocals), James McKeon (guitars and vocals), Ryan Williams (trumpet, bass guitar), Baz Barwick (bass guitar, mandola and vocals) and Owen Emmanuel (drums and percussion) – I haven’t recited that many names since Blazin’ Squad struggled to fit on the Top Of The Pops stage back in the early naughties – rusty shackle have a bright future ahead of them if they are able to build upon the quirky foundation on which they stand.

You can catch the boys on tour throughout March and April by clicking here. In the meantime, why not check out the video for “When The Morning Comes” below:
