August

Summer may well be over, but August is most definitely here to stay.

The London-based indie pop artist is serving up powerful hooks by the dozen, transforming an otherwise pleasant pop song into a wondrous and soaring showpiece. The indulgently fresh cut, entitled “Heal“, sees unrelenting choruses intertwine with raspy, brooding vocal lines.

It’s a chart friendly sound to be sure, one that reminds us of the infectious offerings served up by One Republic frontman and pop supremo, Ryan Tedder.

“The initial idea came after a friend of mine was diagnosed with cancer.” he explains. “Myself, and a bunch of close friends, felt totally helpless seeing someone we cared about hit by tragedy so young and all we could do was hope for a miracle. HEAL taps into that desire for hope to reach into a dark place.”
