Whosah - Forget About It

For most bands, 90% of their time is spent tentatively crafting new material (‘well, obviously!’ I hear you cry, it’s a ruddy single after all), with the leftover dregs being thrown into producing a homemade, semi-usable promo video. But whether you like it or not, in the era of YouTube sensations and instant Vimeo fame, the need for attention grabbing music videos is greater than ever.

You see, there’s something undeniably powerful about a humorous music video, a tool that indie-poppers (drugs are bad kids, don’t do ’em) Whosah have nailed oh-so well. Their latest track “Forget About It” takes the most simple camera trickery, and with a little bit of editing, has integrated it perfectly into an addictively repetitive music video. It’s a seductive indie/synth-pop aesthetic, reminiscent of Iglu and Hartley with a side of Saltwater Sun. It’s vibrant, it’s full of energy and we bet you a tenner you’ll either find yourself nodding like the Churchill dog or tapping your foot like a Travis Barker wannabe.

Laughter is contagious after all; it defies creed, colour and nationality, which is precisely why, in the absence of overpriced, five-figure camera lenses and Hollywood level set designers, it’s the ultimate tool for low-budget filmmakers. I’ll stop rambling now, watch the ruddy video already:
