Hailing from Spain, pop singer Leroy Sanchez rapidly rose to fame after his YouTube videos amassed some 80 million views worldwide. It wasn’t long before Leroy caught an eye of Grammy-winning producer Jim Jonsin, who quickly signed him to his label. Currently working on his new album, don’t miss a chance to catch him live at the Islington O2 Academy 2 on Tuesday, January 17.
Superglu
Introducing Superglu, a band from Manningtree in Essex. Blending old-school hooks with melodic riffs, the band combines the punk vibes of The Clash, Sex Pistols and the Ramones. Hailed by many as the missing link between The Beach Boys and The Pixies, you can catch them live on Wednesday 25, January at London’s Sebright Arms.
The Divine Comedy
The Divine Comedy is a band playing orchestral pop direct from Northern Ireland. Combining elements of orchestral music and baroque pop, there’s an undeniable dash of Victoriana with this band. Despite the fact Neil Hannon is the only constant member of the group, their performances include everything from cellos and violas, to organs and accordions. CoCo and the Butterfields
If you’re hunting for new music, check out Canterbury-based CoCo and the Butterfields. The band name their style “flip fok” – which is, in fact, a combination of rock, pop and a dash of hip-hop. Blending banjos and beat boxing, hurry up and book tickets for their shows at the Academy 2, Islington, on the 8th +9th February.
Two Door Cinema Club
The legends that are Two Door Cinema Club return to London with their unique blend of indie-rock. Creating sounds reminiscent of a The Strokes and Depeche Mode, keep your eyes open for their upcoming shows in London on Thursday 9th + Friday 10th February at Alexandra Palace.
Laurel
Laurel Arnell-Cullen a.k.a. Laurel, is a British singer, model and songwriter creating the ultimate alternative pop. Largely known for producing her own records from the very beginning, Laurel’s vocal style has led to her being hailed as the next Lana Del Rey. Sunidhi Chauhan is an Indian vocalist who’s best known as a playback singer and can be heard in a host of Bollywood films. Merging traditional Indian elements with pop, hip-hop and R&B, Sunidhi Chauhan has become famous for her powerful and energetic performances. Sundara Karma
